Katarino - Building of 2005

The complex Katarino is a spa and hotel center and includes 46 houses with 64 apartments. The hotel building has 139 rooms and apartments. It has bowling hall and tennis courts. The spa center alone is 150 sq. m.
The complex is situated 2 kilometers east from the city of Razlog and 10 kilometers away from Bansko. The area is surrounded by beautiful mountains that create an amaising mood.
Architects of the complex Katarino are arch. B. Hantov, arch. D. Tomalevski, arch. S. Tumangelova, arch. R. Tomalevska, engineer P. Vlaeva. In 2005 the complex was chosen to be “Building of the 2005” in Bulgaria. The category for Hotel and spa included 68 other buildings, but Katarino was chosen to be the 2005 “Building of the year”.
The architecture of Katarino is rich, contemporary and at the same time typical for the region. The architecture uses modern materials – glass, metal together with the typical for the region stone cladding and wooden elements. Hints for the local culture can be found as well in decoration objects.
